Yachting
From the summer 2002 we can offer our guests an opportunity to experience the water around Strynø from the seaside. This is due to the fact that we have acquired an "oilminator", one vessel out of three built in 1974 for The National Agency of Environmental Protection. Our "oilminator" was called MS12.
"The Oilminators" were specially built with a flat buttom and with a flap that could be lowered in the stem. The 3 vessels were placed in the naval stations in Copenhagen and Korsør as well as one in Kalundborg. The purpose with these special built vessels was a quick bringing in action in the fight against an oil polution in shallow areas. The engine was a water-cooled Chrysler Marine Super Bee II, four-stroke petrol engine, type 2M318 with a performance of 248 hp. A tremendous engine to the rather small vessel (7m long and 3m wide) this is why the topspeed was 30 knots.

The crews were staff from the navy, that is an officer, 1 sergeant and an able seaman. We acquired MS12 in a very poor condition on a surplus stock, and we have used several hours reparing and rebuilding it.
It is our goal to make the vessel suitable for sailing between islets and islands in the archipelago of southern Funen. As the vessel was built with a lowering flap it has become possible to offer sailing for wheel chair users, as well as the very small drought makes it possible to sail in the shallow water between islands and islets.
At the launch MS12 has been renamed to
The MISSIng Link with the hope that she will bring good experiences to our guests.
