The History of Strynø Gl. Mejeri

There were sale by retail of milk, butter and cheese from the dairy. Sale of butter to the export association Odense, and sale of cheese to wholesale dealers.
The dairy had 2 employees.
When the co-operative dairy of Strynø was in use, it was an improved and modern dairy, that completely met the demands of the day, and had an extensive production capacity. The buildings were constantly extended. In 1956 the north-building was not yet built together with the rest of the dairy.
In 1969 the co-operative dairy of Strynø was closed and the milk sent to Simmerbøl. The dairy was empty and became more and more run-down until we bought it in 1997 and started an extensive renovation of the buildings.
Strynø co-operative dairy became Strynø Gl. Mejeri (Strynø old Dairy) and flourished as a holiday- and course centre. The past of the dairy has in no way been forgotten and we hope that our guests will experience and commemorate it's original activities.
